GAMBIA: ACTIVIST MADI JORBATEH WHO WAS ARRESTED ON MONDAY HAS BEEN RELEASED

Madi Jobarteh, an activist detained on Monday, has been freed on bail with one Gambian surety and a bail amount of D100,000. Madi, who was hospitalized at Westfield Clinic before his discharge, is due to appear at the police SIU in Banjul on October 26, according to family sources citing police.
According to our sources, he has not been charged with any crimes. He was unwell when he was arrested on Monday.
