Fatoumata Kargbo, a Gambian employee at a Forex Exchange Bureau in Westfield, Kanifing Municipality, was stabbed to death by Senegalese native Haruna Tine.

The Gambia was reportedly home to the suspect, Haruna Tine, for a while.

He allegedly stabbed Fatoumata Kargbo to death and then tried to take his own life. At now, he is under the watchful eye of the police as he is hospitalized to the Ndemban Clinic in Bakau.

His whereabouts are being closely monitored by the police while investigations progress, according to an unidentified police officer who spoke to LTN. He is reportedly being shackled on his hospital bed.

According to the authorities, he stabbed the girl in the neck and then tried to stab himself in the stomach and ribs, but he survived. Unfortunately, the girl did not survive her hasty journey to Westfield Clinic, according to the source.

Investigations continue while Haruna Tine receives medical care. LTN will reach out to provide further information.
