Musa Yali Batchilly, the Secretary General and Party Leader of the Gambia Action Party (GAP) says the game is over between incumbent Talib Ahmed Bensouda and his challengers in the KM Mayoral Election, saying Talib will be the next Mayor.

“I heard president Barrow talking about corruption (in KM). D151.5Billion from GRA is under the directives of the central government, what did they do? Barrow’s administration is the worst administration ever in the history of the Gambia. I told him he can be a good person, but the people surrounding him are fooling him. Imagine he spent D300,000 on each candidate in nineteen wards and they have only two candidates. That’s a big shame. I am telling you, Talib will have 55 to 60 percent. The game is over. Talib is the next mayor inshallah,” Batchilly said.

The GAP leader also expressed happiness and said the crowd pulled by Talib during his nomination were original residents of the Kanifing Municipal Council.

“Today what I saw is, is finished. I am happy with the crowd, and this is not an imported crowd. These are original citizens of KMC that came out to give the seat to Bensouda. Bensouda is a shining diamond. Bakary looks like a black Chinese when he smiles. It is a fake smile. I am telling president Barrow not to waste his resources because he (Talib) is backed by Batchilly, concerned citizens and UDP. Number one, Talib put Gambia before anything, and even that alone is enough. How can you leave a Youth and sports ministry and want to be Mayor, that’s greed. What has done?” he asked.

Musa Yali Batchilly is among the political party leaders who endorsed Talib Ahmed Bensouda for the upcoming Mayoral election in the Kanifing Municipal Council (KMC).
