The long-awaited trial of Ousmane Sonko reached its epilogue this Tuesday. The Dakar district court postponed the deliberations until Thursday, December 14, 2023.

During the trial, Ousmane Sonko’s lawyers argued as in Ziguinchor for the reinstatement of the leader of the ex-Pastef on the electoral register. They particularly emphasized the fact that their client did not receive notification of his removal; and that the trial is purely political.

For their part, the State’s lawyers argued for the continued removal of Ousmane Sonko on the basis of the foreclosure. And it was Me El Hadji Diouf who finished their pleading.

Then, the judge allocated 15 minutes to each party as a reply to present their final arguments, after which he set the deliberations for December 14.

This date is now crucial, because it will determine the fate of Ousmane Sonko in this affair.
