Jammeh’s landed properties in Banjul
We will be publishing the list of Jammeh’s properties in our possession. This way, if a fake list is released, everyone will know the truth.
Below are the landed properties in Banjul identified by the Janneh Commission:
- 78 A and B Daniel Goddard Street (former Hagan Street) is a freehold property acquired by Jammeh in 2 parts from 2 brothers- Dawda Jallow and Ebrima Jallow for D5.5 million (Size: 210.105 and 548.45 square metres)
- 26 ECOWAS Avenue (former Buckle Street) is a freehold property (1000 Square metres). The previous owner was Dr. Ebrahim Samba (deceased). He sold it to Kanilai Family Farm (KFF) for D9.6 million.
- 13 Davidson Carrol Street (former Picton) is a freehold property (Size: 666 square metres). The previous owner was Harry Emerson Maurice Jones (deceased). It was sold to KFF for D4 million by the representative of the deceased, Daphne Sarian Atere-Roberts.
- 15 Dobson Street is a freehold property (Size: 717.7 square metres). The previous owner was John Benedict Ndow (deceased). It was inherited by Anna Ndow (deceased). Sold to KFF for D3 million by Peter John Ndow as personal representative of Anna Ndow.
- Jengdula Night Club and Jeng’s Electrical Company Ltd (former Cape Road) is a leasehold property (Size: 262.7 square metres). Purchased by KFF for D750,000.
- 3 Daniel Goddard (former Hagan Street) is a freehold property (Size: 323.70 square metres). The previous owner was Amiet Benoi Okeke Thomas (deceased). Purchase price unknown.
- 57A Daniel Goddard (former Hagan Street) is a freehold property (Size: 402.89 square metres). The previous owners were Jankeh Sallah and Anna Sarr (deceased). Inherited by Pa Abdou Joof, Assan Joof and Ya Ida Joof. It was sold for D900,000 to KFF.
- 49 William Cole (former Grant Street)is a freehold property (Size: 360.75 square metres) and was purchased with 2A-22nd July Square (former Independence Drive) by KFF from the Gambia National Lottery for D14 million.
- 9 Fitzerald Street is a freehold property (Size: 715 Square metres).The previous owners were Victoria Roberts, Irene Danner, Mary Darboe, and Francis Isaac Thomas (deceased). Sold to KFF by Gabriel Roberts as a personal representative for D1.2 million.
- 18A Picton Street is a freehold property (Size: 216 square metres). Previous owners was Alhaji Momodou Bajaha (deceased). Inherited by Pa Momodou Bajaha, who sold it to KFF for D2.1 million.
- Palm Grove Hotel (now Hamza Barracks) is a leasehold property (Size: 2,145 hectares). The previous owner was Aly Jacobs, assigned to Vingressor Club 33 Ltd in 1976. It was later taken over by the Assets Management and Recovery Corporation (AMRC). Sold by the Ministry of Finance on behalf of the Government to Edward Raphael Jansz and Carol Anne Jansz. They sold the hotel to KFF for £500,000 through their lawyer, Ann Rivington. Jammeh turned it into a barracks for soldiers and their families.
- 61 Daniel Goddard Street (former Hagan) is a freehold property (Size: 224 square metres). The previous owner was Alhaji Dodou Matarr Njie (deceased). KFF bought it for D1.5 million from Ebrima Njie and Adama Njie.
- 60 Daniel Goddard Street (former Hagan) is a freehold property (Size: 347.70 square metres). The previous owner was Alh. Malick Mbye (deceased). The property was sold for D1.5 million to KFF by Habib Mbye as personal representative of Alh. Malick Mbye.
- 34 Liberation Avenue (former Wellington Street) is a freehold property (Size: 779.93 square metres). The previous owner was former President Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara (deceased). Sold for £650,000 to KFF.
- 2 Fitzerald Street is a freehold property (Size: 452.235 square metres). The previous owner was John W. Bidwell Bright (deceased). Sold by Registrar of High Court for D2.2 to KFF under a court order for the sale of the property.
- 72 Gloucester Street (borders Gloucester Street and Independence Drive) is a freehold property (Size: 1,107.10 square metres). The previous owner was Samuel Horton Oluwole (deceased). Property was sold to Ebrima M. Manneh (deceased). Inherited by Abdoulie Manneh, who later sold it to KFF for D1.5 million.
- 13 William Cole (former Grant Street) is a freehold property (Size: 318 square metres). Previous owner Julius Hector Ceesay (deceased). Conveyed by deed of gift to Julia King Ceesay (previously called Jainaba Ceesay). Property sold to KFF for D2.5 million by Julia’s lawyer, King Ceesay.
