A British woman’s body was discovered in a building in Sinjang village, close to Kunkujang Mariama in Kombo North, on Friday. The suspect apprehended in connection with the homicide case has confessed to the deed, according to the police.

Unsolved mysteries surrounded the discovery of Shaikna Chinedu’s death in an unfinished structure, which occurred many days after she vanished.
A male suspect, believed to be in his twenties or thirties, was apprehended by the authorities on Saturday.

The suspect confessed to killing Shaikna and stealing from her house, according to police spokesperson ASP Binta Njie, who spoke with The Standard.
The suspect also confessed to selling the victim’s cell phone. “He admitted to killing alone, which contradicts his earlier confession in which he claimed to have committed the murder with another person,” Njie continued.
Fearless percussionist fleeing

The murder of the British woman was one of several homicides reported in recent days.

In New Jeshwang, for example, a man who was allegedly a Senegalese national and a drummer by trade killed his friend before fleeing the scene of the crime.
The event has been confirmed by ASP Njie, the police spokeswoman, who also stated that the police are making every effort to capture the fugitive.

Surviving a mango tree

The discovery of a young man’s body, later identified as Mama Salieu Suwareh, dangling from a tree in the Central River Region gave rise to yet another homicide case.

According to the police, the father presented papers that confirmed his son’s mental illness, and their inquiry confirmed that his son had a mental health issue.

The police reported that Suwareh went about his regular business as usual until he was discovered later dangling from a mango tree behind the compound.

Robbery suspects apprehended beside their driver

At the same time, two individuals have been taken into custody by the authorities in relation to a shooting that occurred at the Fajara property of Mauritanian businessman Ali Sidi. The shooter has remained unknown.

A getaway BMW was used by the assailant to flee after allegedly physically assaulting the businessman and firing shots into the air.
According to the authorities, they have apprehended two males who are assisting with their investigation: the driver and the person they believe was responsible for the shooting.
