GAMBIA: BODY DISCOVERED IN BONTO BUSHES WITH SEVERE BURNS

Tuesday, an unidentifiable man’s remains were discovered in the bushes between the villages of Pirang and Bonto in eastern Kolombo. A number of body parts were reduced to charcoal.

Police spokesperson Binta Njie confirmed the discovery of the charred male remains to The Standard: “I can affirm that the body was discovered in the bushes of Bonto; however, its identity remains unknown and no report of a missing person was filed. “For a possible postmortem examination, the remains were transported to the Edward Francis Teaching Hospital in Banjul.”
The Standard was informed by Bonto residents that the body was discovered in the shrubbery by a village native, who subsequently notified the village authorities, who subsequently notified the police and rescue services.
