GAMBIA: CHIEF MEDICAL DIRECTOR OF EDWARD FRANCIS SMALL TEACHING HOSPITAL HAS BEEN DISMISSED

According to reliable sources, the Chief Medical Director of Gambia’s sole teaching hospital, as reported recently by Freedom Newspaper. Dr. Ammar Al Jafari has been dismissed due to accusations of corruption within the hospital’s administration.

An ongoing investigation by a panel is investigating the hospital’s management, and the termination of Dr. Al Jafri is regarded as a measure aimed at rebuilding the hospital’s reputation.

Dr. Ammar Al Jafari was designated as the Chief Medical Director of the hospital in August 2022. Mustapha Bittaye, the current Director of Health Services, will take over this position.
