The People’s Progressive Party (PPP) candidate for mayor of Banjul City Council, Ebrima Jawo, has officially announced his appointment as the council’s executive coordinator.

“I have been appointed as Banjul City’s new Executive Coordinator, a position that is essentially quite similar to that of Governor. The only difference between it and the governor’s function is the title. The local councils are unrelated to this. Ebrima Jawo said to Kerr Fatou on Wednesday, “Basically, I do in Banjul exactly what the governors do in the West Coast to URR.”

There are also rumors that the Kanifing Municipal Council (KMC) would establish a position similar to this one, but we haven’t received any information on who will be appointed to this post.
