GAMBIA: IGP ABDOULIE SANYANG ATTENDED OFFICIAL HANDOVER CEREMONY OF PRESIDENT BARROW’S MILLION DALASIS BOUNTY PLEDGE

The attendance of Inspector General of Police, Abdoulie Sanyang, at the Ministry of Interior’s ceremonial transfer ceremony on October 17, 2023, marked the fulfillment of President Adama Barrow’s commitment of one million dalasis to The Gambia Police Force.

A reward is being given to anybody who provide information that leads to the capture of the main suspect involved in the shooting event that occurred at the Sukuta-Jabang Junction. This incident resulted in the unfortunate demise of two police officers, while another officer remains in a serious condition.
This commitment is extended to anyone who provide pertinent information or assist the capture of the main suspect involved in the Sukuta-Jabang Junction shooting occurrence. The aforementioned occurrence led to the unfortunate death of two law enforcement personnel and left another in a critical situation in the medical facility, as stated.

According to the statement, the president was represented by the minister of interior at the handover ceremony.
The Minister of Interior, acting on behalf of the President, presided over the transfer ceremony. Present at the event were the National Security Adviser, high-ranking government officials, and top members of the police force.

The announcement of the prize was made by President Barrow on September 12, 2023, in the context of the ongoing inquiry into the shooting event.
