She has announced that on February 12, 2024, President Barrow will entertain political party leaders at State House for a crucial national dialogue session.

Wednesday at State House, the National Preparatory Committee (NPC), an organization comprised of representatives from numerous institutions and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), held a press conference to make the public aware of the forthcoming National Dialogue, which is slated to take place on February 16, 2024. The principal objective of the press conference is to provide comprehensive information to the general public concerning the aims and protocols pertaining to the National Dialogue.
Sissoho emphasized the importance of President Barrow’s sanctioning of the National Preparatory Committee’s proposition regarding a political dialogue with party leaders. The dialogue is scheduled to occur at State House on February 12th.

“An additional significant development this year is that His Excellency accepted the committee’s (National Preparatory Committee for National Dialogue) recommendation that a political dialogue be conducted with party political leaders; the Statehouse has been designated as the venue for this dialogue, which is scheduled to take place on February 12th.
“Honorable guests, including party leaders and other stakeholders, will be entertained by His Excellency as they observe the proceedings. “The purpose of that is to introduce the national dialogue’s processes and theme so that, as a nation, we can examine our problems and determine how to address them while conversing with one another,” she explained to the media on Wednesday at a press conference held at State House.

According to information relayed by the Director of Press, His Excellency President Adama Barrow approved a public forum organized by the Office of the President the previous year. The purpose of the forum was to involve the public in discussions that promoted democracy, peace, and stability. In an additional endeavor this year, the president has made the decision to form a National Committee, which will be tasked with the organization of a forum for national dialogue.
“The membership of that national dialogue forum is comprised of institutions and individuals from all over the country.” The inaugural session of the committee took place on January 30th, during which members were briefed and provided with the background information that had been sent to them regarding the committee’s purpose. “Since that day, the committee has been extremely active, holding meetings both in person and virtually in order to expedite the task at hand,” she explained.

The committee has reportedly engaged in extensive deliberation and developed plans for the forthcoming National Dialogue, which is scheduled to take place on February 16, 2024 (Sissoho).
“The committee’s initial responsibility was to validate a proposed theme for the upcoming year.” The Committee reached a conclusion and authorized the theme after a lengthy discussion: “Is it our collective responsibility to preserve our nation, protect the state, and secure our resources?” “That will be the theme for the upcoming year,” she stated.

Furthermore, she stated that the 14th of February had been designated by the committee as a day to involve stakeholders in dialogues concerning thematic issues that are universally relevant to the populace.

“Six thematic areas were identified on the fourteenth, and members of the preparatory committee were divided into six teams to facilitate the meeting on the sixteenth (National Dialogue Day), during which they will conduct an in-depth discussion of the topics and then prepare for the event.”
