The Gambia Police Force (GPF) said Friday that its West Coast Regional Task Force arrested a man for allegedly collecting D585,000 and 49 passports under false pretences, claiming to secure UK visas.
According to the police, Yusuff Mendy, the suspect, was reported for visa fraud on January 17.
“A search of his residence in Kololi uncovered 49 passports of The Gambia, Guinea Bissau, Guinea, and Senegal, along with D90,000 in cash. The suspect also named two accomplices from Brikama who remain at large,” GPF said in a statement.
