GAMBIA: STATE GUARD COMMAND COLONEL ABDOULIE MBOOB DIES

Sources confirmed the death of Colonel Abdoulie Mboob, the leader of the State Guard.

Today, May 25, Colonel Mboob departed from this life following a brief illness.

Colonel Mboob led the State guard battalion, a division of the Gambian army that guards the president, until his death.

Recently, he was one of twelve senior military leaders to be promoted from lieutenant colonel to colonel.
Among Gambians, particularly those he served alongside in the armed services, the late Mboob was highly regarded for his military acumen and professionalism.
