Judge E. Jaiteh of the Banjul High Court heard the case of Haruna Tine, the accused murderer in connection with the death of a young girl at Westfield Forex Bureau, yesterday.
The Gambian employee Fatoumata Kargbo was allegedly fatally stabbed by the accused, a Senegalese national, at the HM Bureau Exchange de Change located in Westfield, Kanifing Municipality.

Presiding State Counsel Drammeh requested an adjournment when the matter was called before Presiding Judge Justice E. Jaiteh. He stated that the Attorney General’s Chambers had not yet received the case file from the police and that it remained with the police.
The state attorney stated, “The police are looking into the matter.”

The accused was charged with murder, a very serious act, Judge Jaiteh reminded the court, adding that the police had to turn in the report as quickly as possible.

On January 29, 2024, the case was brought up in court, and the judge requested information about the police’s activities during the previous month. Justice Jaiteh said, “The police must be diligent in such work.”

In court, the judge also recommended that the case be scheduled once a week.

The presiding judge also mentioned that the police might report anything to the court if it was preventing them from turning in the paperwork.
