Seedy Ceesay, the National People’s Party (NPP) candidate for the Brikama Area Council chairmanship election, has expressed confidence that he will win the election and take over the West Coast Region with the support he has received so far.

Ceesay made these remarks today after submitting his nomination papers to the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) office in Brikama.

He said that he is grateful for the support he has received from the people of Brikama and the West Coast Region, and he is confident that they will vote for him in the election.

“I think we have already won, It is very clear in the crowd and with the support that I have in the leadership of His Excellency Adama Barrow and the party. As far as I am concerned with me, I believe I have listened to the people of the West Coast, some of you may witness that I have had a lot of engagements with all stakeholders on the West Coast, and based on those engagements, I have the firm belief and commitment that I want to serve the needs and the aspirations of the west coast,” He said.

Mr. Ceesay touched on his priorities for the West Coast, saying his priority is to have a better West Coast;

“My priority is for us to have a clean West Coast. A West Coast that will grow the economy and a West Coast that will create jobs for young men and women. It is important for one to take a step. We saw Gambia yesterday, we have seen Gambia today, and we want a better Gambia.

“Some of us have been motivated and inspired by the new Gambia for the fact that we have stayed away from this country for a very long time and decided it is time for us to put our hand on deck. Others will say politics is a dirty game, but I say to them that is not the solution. If you believe politics is a dirty game, you are condemning yourself to a virtual person who doesn’t take any responsibilities in your country,” He expresses

The Chairperson election is slated for May 20th throughout the country.
