Bassirou Diomaye Faye does not neglect the good neighbor policy. For his first visit abroad, the new President of Senegal is close. It comes to us, in fact, from a good source, that the 5th President of the Republic will go to the Islamic Republic of Mauritania tomorrow, Wednesday. Thus, this visit takes on, without a doubt, several symbols. Many links unite Mauritania and Senegal. Essentially economic links with gas exploitation. The joint exploitation of the Grand Tortue Ahmeyim (Gta) gas field remains the strong symbol of the great economic partnership between the two countries. The Mauritanian President, also current president of the African Union (AU), Mohamed Ould Ghazouani, took part in the swearing-in ceremony of President Bassirou Diomaye Faye on April 2. By going to Mauritania, for his first visit outside the country, Bassirou Diomaye Faye follows in the footsteps of President Macky Sall. The latter, after coming to power on March 25, 2012, went to Gambia for his first trip.
