SENEGAL: SIX MONTHS SENTENCE HANDED TO OUSMANE SONKO BY A DAKAR COURT OF APPEAL

Court of Appeal: Ousmane Sonko sentenced to a six-month suspended sentenceOusmane Sonko was sentenced to a six-month suspended sentence on Monday by the Dakar Court of Appeal for public insults and defamation. It also confirms the amount of damages at first instance.

During his indictment, Prosecutor General Bakhoum requested two years in prison, one of which is firm against Sonko.  

For his part, Mame Mbaye Niang claimed 29 billion from Ousmane Sonko in damages.

Mr. Sonko was sentenced in March at first instance to a two-month suspended prison sentence and 200 million CFA francs. damages.
