After the clashes, the looters went to great lengths to empty the shops and ransack the banks. Sad sight!

By Justin GOMIS – In the aftermath of the demonstrations recorded in the capital after the verdict of the trial opposing the leader of the Pastef party, Ousmane Sonko, to the ex-masseuse Adji Sarr, the Niagues road has become impassable. It bears the scars of these demonstrations which saw charred cars, Gmi armored vehicles burned, stores including Auchan gutted. The scenery is indescribable. Stones strewn the road. Smoke still rises from tires burned by protesters. The Brt stations, which are being set up, have not been spared. Orange’s headquarters, which had a facelift after the March 2021 protests, was ransacked again, despite efforts to secure it. The banks along this road have not escaped the fury of young people.

From the early hours of yesterday morning, the surrounding populations came out en masse to see the damage caused by these demonstrations. But others were more concerned with finding something to eat. Thus, young people and women were not asked to enter the Auchan store to find something to put in bags. The damage is enormous and does not leave some residents indifferent. “The young people ransacked everything, even the Brt whose work is not yet finished is not spared. It’s a mess, a huge loss, “said a man disappointed by this situation that presents itself to him. For others, it’s well deserved. “There is an injustice in this country. They have to pay for it,” suggested a young lady. In any case.
