GAMBIA: DEFENSE OPENING TODAY FOR ALLEGED COUP LEADER SANNA FADERA

Corporal Sanna Fadera, the 1st accused person in the alleged coup trial will Friday testify before the court as defence witness after state prosecutors announced they have closed their case.

Fadera alongside Sergeant Gibril Darboe and Corporal Ebrima Sannoh of the Gambia Armed Forces, as well as Sub-inspector Fabakarry Jawara of the Gambia Police Force have been charged with treason, concealment of treason and incitement to mutiny. 

Omar Njie, the fourth accused person in the case was acquitted by the court yesterday after a ‘No Case to Answer’ submission by his lawyers was granted.
