According to Ebrima G. Sankareh, the official representative of the Gambian government, the individual responsible for the Sukuta-Jabang incident has been characterized as a hired assassin.

The government spokesman, who also serves as the Gambian diaspora advisor to the president, provided insights during an exclusive interview on the West Coast Radio Coffee Time program on Thursday addressing the recent apprehension of the suspected assailant.

According to spokeswoman Ebrima G. Sankareh, the individual responsible for the shooting of three police officers, resulting in the death of two policemen and severe injury of one, is believed to be a contracted assassin. This conclusion has been reached based on the most recent updates after the suspect’s apprehension.

Additionally, he said that the boots worn by the suspected assassin, which served as his attire for the act of murder, the monetary compensation provided to him for carrying out the job, and the vehicle used to transport him away from the mosque where he rendezvoused with his co-conspirators, have all been successfully retrieved.

According to the speaker, Ousman Bojang, the individual accused of committing the crime, is now situated in a secure facility. It has been noted that Bojang has shown a high level of cooperation with the investigators throughout the interrogation process, providing accurate and crucial information that has proven to be valuable in advancing the investigation.

As per his account, Mr. Bojang is actively assisting the investigators in the retrieval of the firearm. It is worth mentioning that he also guided the investigators to the establishment, specifically a hotel or lodge, where he and his accomplices were accommodated by their employers on the evening of Wednesday. Subsequently, a number of suspects were discovered and subsequently apprehended.

According to Mr. Sankareh, it was emphasized that the individual accused of carrying out the shooting incident is employed as a security guard at the Brikama Area Council. Additionally, the investigators have reportedly corroborated this information by comparing the suspect’s recorded video and photographs with those captured by the police during the recent court proceedings involving the current chairwoman of the BAC.

The speaker confidently claimed to possess photographic evidence of the individual in question wearing a hoodie, so confirming their presence and active involvement in the recent court protest.

According to the government spokesman, the leader of The Gambia has given assurance that within their democratic system, those accused of any crime, regardless of its severity, would be granted the right to legal counsel and will through a comprehensive legal process, as is customary in a democratic society.

He further urged the people of The Gambia to maintain a state of tranquility, ensuring their personal safety and overall well-being.
