A proposal for the 2024 budget calls for allocating D30 million for the president’s meet-the-people travel, which is an increase of D20 million above the D10 million authorized budget for the trip last year.

The entire estimated budget for 2024 is D42, 077, 737, 144, which is made up of grants, loans, and local government funds.
These estimates, which include projected government spending until 2024, were provided by Finance Minister Seedy Keita last week. Over the next several weeks, MPs are expected to examine, weigh, and approve them.

Out of the more than D700 million projected for the OP, D30 million is suggested to be used for the province visits scheduled for next year, according the breakdown of the estimates for the office of the president.

The 1997 Constitution gives the president the authority to go on a national tour and solicit feedback from the public while educating them on government goals, policies, and initiatives.
However, detractors said that the incumbent has long used it as a platform for partisan politics and insults.

Since the budget for the president’s travel was often cut, it has always caused disagreement among NAMs during the estimations’ deliberations.
The budget projections for 2024 also suggested setting a fixed pay of D1,053,001 for deputy presidential advisers and D2,483,540 for the president’s special advisers.
