Ebrima Drammeh, a migration activist residing in Malta, has revealed alarming information about the boat that vanished on October 14. According to Drammeh, all of the passengers perished when the ship overturned in the seas between Senegal and Mauritania.

“It hurts to disclose this information, but we have to communicate what we have found after a month-long inquiry and a lengthy wait. On Thursday, Ebrima announced that “we have received credible reports confirming the tragic capsizing of the boat on October 14th in the river between Senegal and Mauritania, resulting in the loss of all lives on board.”

During a late-night speech to the Ebrima Migrant Situation WhatsApp group, Drammeh broke the terrible news, leaving the group members saddened.

The tragedy is all the more heartbreaking since the ship is said to carry 150 people. Kerr Fatou was unable to independently confirm Drammeh’s statement at the time of publishing.
