The High Court’s Justice Ebrima Jaiteh has issued an order directing Maiden Pharmaceutical Ltd. in India to be served via the Times Newspaper. The basis for Justice Jaiteh’s ruling was an application submitted by the defendants’ attorney Loubna Farage.

The judge further declared that he will issue the required order by the next adjournment date so that the case could be heard during mediation week, which is set for May 20–24, 2024.
Recall that additional victims have recently brought legal action against Maiden Pharmaceuticals Ltd. and the other defendants.

Farage did not object when state representative attorney D. Binga requested an extension to submit a statement of defence.

The plaintiffs are requesting a declaration from the court stating that their children’s deaths were brought on by the use of tainted cough syrups and oral solutions produced in India by Maiden Pharmaceuticals Ltd., which Atlantic Pharmaceuticals Company Ltd. imported and distributed in the Gambia.
The Attorney General, the Ministry of Health, and the Medicine Control Agency are additional defendants in this action.
