The national army is attacking a rebel base newly created by elements of  Salif Sadio  and Paul  Aloukassine Bassene  located in the village of  Kadialouck  in the commune of  Djibidione  department of  Bignona . The populations of the area were awakened on Monday by heavy weapon fire which is still continuing. The latter fear for their safety in view of the frequency of heavy weapon fire.

The 2nd deputy mayor of  Djibidione  maintains that the situation is very worrying in the surroundings and the threat is real for the populations of this border locality of  Gambia  where the clashes are taking place. According to the latter, the populations move according to the combat zone, it is clear that some have already taken refuge on the side of Gambia which is more accessible by vehicle for them than wanting to come to  Senegal .

So everything depends on the combat zone and the populations move in one direction or the other. For the moment the army has not communicated on this operation it is not known if there are human victims on both sides. Recall that the rebel leader  Salif Sadio   had been talked about in the area by holding 9 Senegalese soldiers captive, whom he later released after negotiations.

Salif Sadio  was subsequently driven out of the area during a vast operation to secure  North Sindia  by the state, which decided to put an end to the illicit traffic in timber and Indian hemp.
