Saihou Mballow, the political adviser of President Adama Barrow, has stated that the president will not apologize to Lawyer Ousainou Darboe and that no one will attempt to intimidate the president or his party.
When Ousainou Darboe declared that he would make the government ungoverned, where were the purported human rights activists? Despite the fact that they are subjected to daily insults directed at the president’s parents, they remain mute about the matter. We should not undermine our democracy. The president did not express a willingness to assassinate Ousainou Darboe or any other opposition member. He emphasized that Darboe had pledged to seize his land if he were elected president. Mballow also stated that the president had expressed his intention to continue in office until Darboe’s death.
The political adviser of President Barrow stated that if the president’s statement is the sole issue, there is no political problem in the country.
President Barrow will never apologize for this matter; it is not a menace and has no connection to human rights. The president is being opposed by those who are speaking out. They criticize him for his everyday activities, including dining and driving, and suggest that he should walk to Mankamang Kunda. The president and the NPP will not be intimidated by anyone, and we will not tolerate such behavior. Darboe and all other opposition leaders are guaranteed complete security by Barrow during each election. Would he do so if he genuinely intended to cause harm? “We will not tolerate this unwarranted, biased, and unfair condemnation of the Gambian people and the president,” he stated in an interview with Teranga FM on Monday.
President Adama Barrow declared during the inauguration of his party’s regional bureau in Brikama that he would relinquish power only after witnessing the burial of opposition leader Lawyer Ousainou Darboe.
