APRC “No To Alliance” announced in a letter dated November 25, 2023, that the following members of their executive committee have been expelled: Awa Sanyang, the Diaspora Women Mobilizer (Finland); Abdoulie Secka Baye, Deputy Chief of Security; Aja Nano Touray, the National Women Mobilizer; Prof. Ansu Badjie, Publicity Secretary and Director of Media; Landing Badjie, Chief of Security; Modou Gibba Kulo, a member of the Media Team; Awa Sanyang, the Diaspora Women Mobilizer (Finland); Awa Sanyang, the Diaspora Women Mobilizer (Finland); and Oumie Jatta, the Deputy Women Mobilizer.
Based on Article 50 (a,b,c,d,b,k,l) & Article 51 subsection 6 (a,b,c,d,e, and f) of the APRC constitution, one of the expulsion letters addressed to Ansu Badjie listed infractions of the code of conduct and discipline of the party constitution. They were the target of humiliation, animosity, mockery, misinterpretation, and disdain when the party accused them of acting against the party’s working principles
“With effect from the date of dispatch of this notice, you are hereby relieved of your position as a member of the APRC “BABILIMANSA” No To Alliance Movement (NAM) National Executive Committee (NEC), in accordance with the provisions of Article 50 (a,b,c,d,b,k,l) & Article 51 subsection 6 (a,b,c,d,e, and f) of the APRC constitution. Your activities have caused the party to be embarrassed, hated, ridiculed, misunderstood, and detested since they violate the constitution’s rules of behavior and discipline as well as the party’s working ethics.
Badjie and the other expelled members were told to turn up all party assets and possessions right once to the secretariat.
Ansu Badjie responded by saying that the expulsion letters were motivated by hatred and anger for those who were devoted to serving Babili Mansa and the APRC. He disclosed that their vocal endorsement of the November 25th Rally and opposition to the APRC’s rebranding served as the catalyst for their removal.
Badjie said that a prominent party member was behind the expulsions because of personal problems, citing a December 2022 event in which they had prevented the expulsion of the same person.
The only offense that led to this kind of dismissal was our dedication to the November 25th Rally, opposition to the APRC’s rebranding, and having the audacity to voice the truth. When an evildoer in the No To Alliance Executive leadership was revealed to us, we denounced the violent action. Nevertheless, our criticism was met with resistance by the monstrous (admin secretary), who saw it as urgent to draft the expulsion letters for an immediate action, forgetting yesterday when we steadfastly urged Jammeh not to remove them from their positions.
“A DOG DOES NOT KNOW THE VALUE OF ITS TAIL UNTIL IT IS CUT OFF,” said Babita, who broke down in tears at the executive meeting after learning over the record that he was going to be fired. Babita was aware of the Black sheep’s attitude, so on the final Friday of December 2022, she decided to fire him. If the Angel of Death keeps the party’s funds, that guy (the Administrative Secretary) wouldn’t mind becoming friends with him and telling him how to spend it,” he said.
Despite being kicked out of the party, Ansu Badjie declared themselves to be true and lawful party militants, reaffirming their commitment to the late president Yahya Jammeh. He also alluded to future disclosures by saying he had knowledge of a covert gathering intended to destroy them, in which certain names were mentioned.
“As for me, I was constantly the target of some of them at Executive meetings, and during a secret meeting in a Somita lodge, they eventually planned to kill us. During the private meeting, the following individuals were named: Prof. Ansu Badjie, Landing Badjie, Aja Nano Touray, and Hon. Habib Secka. We are aware of everyone involved, courtesy of Allah. There will be more revelations soon, Ansu Badjie answered.
