In a statement issued by the state House, President Adama Barrow Appointed Ousman Sowe as minister of Local Government, Lands, and Religious Affairs

“The President of the Republic of The Gambia, His Excellency Adama Barrow, on the powers vested on him by Sections (71)(1) and 71 (3) of the Constitution of the 1997, today, 18th August 2023, has appointed Mr Ousman Sowe as Minister for Lands and Regional Government, effective 1st September 2023,” the statement reads.

Before his appointment as the Lands Minister, Ousman was the Director General of the State Intelligence Service 

Ousman has served in various government offices and capacities, including as permanent secretary at the Ministry of Interior, ministry of foreign affairs, ministry of Environment, ministry of Fisheries, and deputy permanent secretary, office of the president.
