On Saturday, the 18th of April 2026, the so-called dishonourable Member for Latrikunda Sabiji Constituency, Mr. Sanyang, has once again exposed himself through actions that can only be described as desperate and deceptive.
In morning at the Fajikunda Central Mosque registration centre, he brought a group of underage individuals in an attempt to have them registered. This time, however, they came carrying birth certificates clearly an attempt to legitimize what had already been exposed as unlawful behavior.
But the facts tell a different story.
The serial numbers on these birth certificates were sequential—3151716, 3151717, 3151718—raising serious suspicion that these documents were freshly produced and artificially backdated to create a false impression of legitimacy.
This is not just questionable it is deeply troubling.
It reflects a calculated attempt to manipulate the voter registration process by manufacturing documentation to suit an agenda. Such actions strike at the very heart of electoral integrity and public trust.
Fortunately, the supervisor at the said registration centre demonstrated professionalism and integrity by rejecting all of them outright. I commend her for standing firm in the face of pressure and for upholding the rules without compromise.
As expected, Mr. Sanyang left the centre with the individuals, but it is clear this may not be the end of such attempts. I have therefore already communicated with all our agents across other registration centres, including Abuko and Latrikunda, to remain vigilant.
This level of conduct from a sitting National Assembly Member is shameful and unacceptable.
Leadership demands honesty, accountability, and respect for the law not manipulation, deception, and repeated attempts to undermine the system.
BAKARY DANSO Latrikunda Sabiji Constituency secretary-general..
