GAMBIA: NYCG URGES YOUTHS TO VOTE MASSIVELY IN THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT ELECTIONS

The National Youth Council of the Gambia (NYCG) has urged all youths of the Gambia to massively go out and exercise their franchise peacefully in the upcoming local government elections.

The NYCG made the call in a press release dated April 13, 2022.

In the release, the NYCG said that it is important for youths to participate in elections in order to have a say in the decisions that affect their lives.

” As the country heads to the polls on Saturday 15th April 2023 for the Local Government election of Councillors, The National Youth Council implores on all the young people of the Gambia to massively go out and exercise their franchise peacefully”

“The Council notes that this election, like any other election, is important. Therefore, it is our responsibility to elect people whose primary role is to represent their wards and provide a bridge between their communities and the councils,”The NYC said.

They said According to their National Youth Policy 2019 – 2028, the young people are the most important National Resource, thus the Council reiterate the need to maintain decorum throughout the electoral process. For the Gambia, Our Homeland.
