Ahmed Gitteh, NPP Primary Candidate for BAC Chairmanship
Ahmed Gitteh, one of the leading contestants in the National People’s Party primary for Brikama Area Council Chairman, says he is not looking for any position in President Adama Barrow’s government, saying whatever position they want to give him, let them give that to Seedy Ceesay and give him back his flag Bearer position that he claimed to have won.
“I’m not here to look for any positions. So if Barrow or anybody in the government wanted me to participate in building this country through an appointed position, they would have it. The interesting part of it is that if a founding member of NPP like Ahmed Gitteh can seek for a position through a democratic process against an individual who is unknown, who is not a member and participated zero in the party, if that individual can be given Gitteh’s victory, any offer that is made, the hate, the plot, whatever is in the background which I know is not out of good will. Whatever the reason that made these people steal my victory and give it to my opponent, who is not an NPP member, believe me if they give me a job it is going to be the same plot they will have against me,” he said.
Gitteh stated that he is still a member of The NPP and will remain a part of the party, that he is only concerned about the well-being of the people of the West Coast;
“I am in the party and as far as we are concerned. Once again, the plea of my people, the well-being of the people of the West Coast, is what I am interested in. Whatever Job they have, I am the winner. If two people go into a competition, the winner goes away with the price. If you sympathize, or you like the looser console the loser, give the loser the consolidation price whatever they want to give me let them give it to Seedy and give me back my flag Bearer position that I won,” He said” he said.
