Seedy Sheriff Ceesay, the recently elected flag bearer of the National People’s Party (NPP) for Brikama Area Council (BAC) chairmanship in the April-May Local Government Elections, has affirmed his commitment to serve diverse communities with diligence, transparency and efficiency without leaving anyone behind.

The TV presenter made the remarks while delivering his victory speech following the NPP BAC runoff primary held on Tuesday at the party’s West Coast regional office – which was attended by top NPP officials.

Ceesay, who spent significant part of his life in public service both at home and abroad, said he understands the principles and values of public service, particularly the need for unity, inclusion, accountability and citizen participation.

He added that such experience will be harnessed and used to transform West Coast Region and deliver governance for the entire West Coast.

He announced that he would share the details of his vision and plans and would introduce the team that would accompany him in the campaign trail in the coming days.

“I stand before you, humbled and honoured for the trust and confidence you have in me. I want to assure you of my resolve to work with all of you in the party and with our supporters. Indeed, we need to work in a united front to win the confidence and votes of our fellow citizens of West Coast and bring them together to address the developmental challenges of our beloved region,” he stated.

He thanked the NPP West Coast delegates for nominating him to be their flag bearer for the upcoming Local Government Elections.

He also thanked the Party Leader, President Adama Barrow and the entire NPP family. He went on to thank his family for the continued support and understanding.
