GAMBIA: THE DEATH OF IMAM BASIRU BAH IS UNDER POLICE INVESTIGATION AMIDST WIDE SPREAD SPECULATIONS

Ramatoulie Bah, daughter of Imam Basiru Bah who was found dead on Friday in a partly constructed house, allegedly commits suicide, says his father told them last night (Thursday, January 12, 2023) that he was going to bed.

“My dad was not sick. He told us he was going to bed yesterday night but we realized that he didn’t wake us up for fajr prayers. We checked on him but we didn’t find him in his room. We discovered that he left his phone and his keys behind in the house. It was later on in the day(Friday) when a man called on us to go and check on what he found. We found him(late Imam Bah) on the ground,” the Imam’s daughter Ramatoulie Bah told Kerr Fatou.

Imam Basiru Bah is the mosque Imam of Fajikunda Bajonkoto mosque. He allegedly committed suicide in an unfinished building on Friday, January 13, 2023. Circumstances surrounding his death are still under investigation.
