GAMBIA: TO CONCENTRATE ON APRC, BALLA JAHUMPA DROPS AMBITION TO RUN FOR PRESIDENT

Former minister and diplomat Balla Garba Jahumpa, often known as Action Man, had declared his intention to run for president in 2026 but has since scrapped the plan.
Jahumpa claimed in an audio interview that he would instead focus on the APRC, which is now undergoing reorganization in preparation for the 2026 presidential race.
“I’ve been a member of the APRC for 29 years, and my conscience wouldn’t let me leave.” I would put all of my effort into revitalizing the party because I have always felt that a large party like the APRC should now generate kings rather than continue to be kingmakers, Jahumpa remarked.

Action Man, the politician’s son from the first republic, thanked all of his supporters and associates who helped him and would have joined his intended party, the Democratic Party for Change (DPFC).
