Dear Editor,
There are unprecedented evidences of corruption in current administration in the Gambia. President Adama Barrow is the most corrupt president The Gambia have so far. He is worst than the former Dictator Yaya Jammeh who looted and squandered more than one billion Dalasis during the 22 years of military dictatorship according to Janneh’s commission report . The sources closed to State House in Banjul and documents submitted to Independent Electoral Commission ( IEC) have indicated that Barrow have more than three hundred million Dalasis in his personal bank  account. The assets of President Adama Barrow in Senegal, The Gambia and the United States worth more than ten million dollars . This is the President who cannot afford his nomination fee during 2016 Presidential election but had to be rescued by The former Vice President Fatoumatta Tambajang and diaspora  to ensure that coalition presidential candidate Adama Barrow’s  nomination fee was paid. Within the last five years, President Adama Barrow has looted so much money that he is now among richest presidents in Africa. Adama Barrow‘s  association with drug dealers like Banta Keita who is on the run and businessman like Abubacarr Jawara,  have raised legitimate questions about his moral authority and administration willingness to fight corruption in the country. There are ample evidences which also indicates that National People’s Party (NPP) is in better financial position than the government of The Gambia . The NPP have more vehicles for political campaign than The Gambia Police Force who is overwhelmingly concerned about the high rate of crimes in the country.

The corruption is the major problem which not only retards  our national development in all areas but also destroys the future of the country. It is like a terminal cancer which has the ability to metastasize to every important organ that is responsible for sustaining life. In other words, The corruption has metastasized to every important institution which contributes to socioeconomic development of the country.

President Adama Barrow’s continuing personal enrichment at the expense of poor taxpayers is a clear indication that he is not interested in fighting corruption and the country will be in bad trajectory if he  is given another five years term.  It is also outrageous and sad to see him never learned anything from extensive corruption that was unearthed by Janneh’s commission which probed financial activities of former Dictator Jammeh and his associates. Financial mismanagement have been the main stumbling block for better economic development in the past 25 years.

The December 4th presidential election will provide two very clear choices;  those who are interested to continue on the path of corruption should vote for Adama Barrow and his cronies who are former President Yaya Jammeh’s allies ( APRC) with a record of financial mismanagement and human rights violations while those  who want change and are advocating for better economic development, justice and rule of law to prevail in the country should vote for former Vice President Honorable lawyer Abubacarr Ousainu Darboe of the United Democratic Party ( UDP). Lawyer Ousainu Darboe has over forty years of legal practice in pursuing justice for oppressed citizens and has long been an advocate for democracy, freedom, civil and human rights. Honorable Darboe is a beloved citizen whose personal and professional life exemplifies diversity and tolerance that our country desperately needs in this difficult time. As a leading legal advocate for justice,  rule of law and zero tolerance for tribalism, Darboe built a diverse family who embraces all the major cultures and languages in The Gambia. Honorable lawyer Ousainu Born was born in the rural Gambia , with Mandinka parents and grew up with diverse tribal experiences which shapes his life to the extend that he married from a different culture and tribe. His wife is from Wolof tribe. Like sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara who laid the foundation of tolerance and inclusiveness in the Gambia , Honorable Lawyer Ousainu Darboe’s Presidency would continue on the same legacy of tolerance and inclusiveness in all areas of government and the society.  The Gambia needs a president who understands the law , is tolerance and honest to serve the common interest of the citizens. Lawyer Darboe is the best candidate to unite the country while pursuing justice for all citizens regardless of political and tribal affiliation.
Thank you
