The temperatures at Grand-Yoff were high this Wednesday. According to testimony, a group of protesters stormed a building where a magistrate lived with the intention of setting it ablaze. Defending himself, one of the tenants drew his weapon and fired. One of them collapses after being hit by the shot.

It is estimated that the victim’s life is not at risk after being rescued and taken to Idrissa Pouye Hospital. According to L’Observateur, the latter is called Ibrahima Ndong and is 29 years old. He is being kept under observation, under police surveillance.

In addition, the newspaper identified the shooter. He is an insurer named AKM. He was arrested and taken to the Grand-Yoff police station. His weapon, an automatic pistol, and their ammunition were seized.

Les Échos informs that the magistrate targeted by the demonstrators moved on the spot. After talking to the police, just after the incident, he left the building with his family to an undisclosed destination.

Urban Security is in charge of the investigation.
