A few hours after the press briefing of the Yewwi Askan Wi coalition, Pastef/Les patriotes published a press release to comment on the conviction of their leader. The party informs that it rejects this conviction of Ousmane Sonko, “an absurd decision”.

The party informs that it has adopted, like its leader, civil disobedience “in the face of biased and dependent judges”. The political bureau declares that there will be no question of accepting arbitrariness.

“Nothing in the world, except divine will, can prevent President Ousmane Sonko from being a candidate in the presidential election of 2024,” declared the Pastef.

“Pastef / Les patriotes invites Macky Sall to assume all that will result from the judicial farce he has sponsored” reads the press release announcing at the same time a press briefing for this Wednesday, May 10, 2023.
