Initially scheduled for tomorrow, December 30 at the Acapes grounds of Parcelles assainies, the inauguration of candidate Ousmane Sonko was banned by the prefect of Dakar. On his Twitter account, the head of Communications for the former Pastef, El Malick Ndiaye, informs: ”We have just received the order banning our investiture ceremony on December 30, 2023.

At the same time, the candidate for voluntary servitude is multiplying his nomination meetings all over the country. This is just one more provocation, but we invite activists and sympathizers to remain attentive to us.”

This ban comes following the categorical refusal of the Electoral Administration to give Sonko his sponsorship forms and his receipt for the deposit, documents necessary to participate in the Presidential election in February 2024. It should be remembered that the candidate’s party, Pastef , was dissolved by the authority a few months ago.
