According to The Point Newspaper, Reliable sources claim that Gambian diplomats were expelled from the United States for engaging in actions that were incompatible with their diplomatic position.

The four are Abdu Cham, Pa Sako Darboe, first secretary, Alagie Babou Joof, finance attaché, and Mustapha Sosseh, deputy head of mission of the Gambian embassy in the United States.
Sources claim that on Friday, representatives of the U.S. State Department gave them until July 17, 2023, to depart the country.
The Point attempted to get the Gambian Embassy in Washington to clarify the situation but efforts proved futile.
