The latest report from the Government Spokesperson, Mr Sankareh, who has returned to the forefront, informed the public that Police prosecutors had filed treason and concealment of treason charges against two civilians, Muhammed Jabbi and Saikou Jabbi (Siblings) and one policeman Fabakary Jawara, for their alleged role in the coup plot against the government of President Adama Barrow.

All the accused persons have denied any involvement.

Considering the return of Sankareh on the briefing has Abou Jeng, the National Security adviser, smelled a rat from the investigations and repositioned himself on managing the fiasco?

The more the state comes forward with

an update on the Coup conspiracy to win over the public, the more ridiculous they appear to the critical viewers. The state is still failing to provide a convincing narrative, neither a compelling circumstantial nor material evidence to charge the alleged Ring leader of the Coup!

Why did the state fail to charge the alleged leading architects of the Coup Plot/Attempt if they were convinced or had the evidence to support their claims? The CRUX of the case is to establish a Coup Plot/Attempt against the main conspirators before concluding on charging the accomplices to the conspiracy!

How did the investigators establish concealment without establishing the authenticity of the allegations? For instance, If a Lance Corporal made a passing statement or any form of the impression of planning to overthrow the government to family or friends, is that sufficient to report to authorities?

Have the investigators established if the people accused of concealment believe that their friend had the intention and means to overthrow the government? If they didn’t think that their friend had the capacity or see any form of evidence to support their friend’s statement, they might conclude that he didn’t have the intention to act on his claims, which would make them dismiss the thought of reporting the matter to authorities.

Hence the accused people have denied the charges of concealment. What evidence did the state have to charge them of hiding the conspiracy without establishing a Crime already committed? Why can’t the state advance the same evidence to charge the principal Architects of the Conspiracy rather than taking them before a Secret Investigation Panel?

Is this proof that the state lacks evidence to proceed with the case?

Is the state on an adventure, fishing for victims to implicate in a Coup Plot/Attempt that never happened? The same reason why they adopted that dictators’ mechanism of seeking evidence by constituting an investigations panel to Manufacture evidence. How can this government claim to be democratic and decide to adopt a tool even worse than Dictators because the Dictator’s chosen panel members were not Secret?

Evaluating the statements released by the government, they either stumbled over information from Walter Mitty’s character, claiming to be plotting to overthrow a government and the likes of Sankareh and Sowe ran with the info constructing an intelligence to win over the confidence of President Barrow presenting a plot to round up his perceived adversaries and silence his opposition.

Hence apart from their ludicrous press statements, they struggle to establish a convincing narrative, plausible circumstantial or material evidence or a solid essential relationship linking the group of soldiers arrested. They resorted to fast-tracking the appointment of the New NSA (Abou Jeng), bringing him into their circle to boost their credibility and, additionally, apply the Secret Investigation panel to facilitate the manufacturing of evidence to accomplish their objectives.

If they could gather the required evidence from their investigations, they wouldn’t have needed to constitute a secret investigation panel that’s only geared to manufacture evidence.

The only reason the state is struggling to gain the required evidence is either the Coup Plot or/the attempt is Manufactured, or the other possibility is that the information that led to the intelligence is untrue or exaggerated to achieve a set objective or drive them to a preconceived conclusion.

Reports from people that know the alleged Coup Ring leader indicate he’s a Walter Mitty Character flexing on the University campus as a Revolutionary, assuming the Thomas Sankara persona.

Again failure to provide evidence or produce people that have the capacity or influence to carry out or support a coup isn’t convincing, and the arrest of individuals that might have personal relationships with alleged Coup plotters for not transmitting something they might hear isn’t a strong indication of a Coup Plot/attempt.

Let the state provide evidence that should justify charges against the accused or free them all without delay, and the public officers that spearheaded the conspiracy should get held to account!
